Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have been linked with Motherwell goalkeeper Trevor Carson on transfer deadline day.

It has been reported that Celtic’s initial bid for the 29-year-old goalkeeper was turned down, and that the Glasgow giants have now more than doubled their offer for the former Hartlepool United custodian.

The Daily Record has also claimed that Celtic have set Motherwell a deadline of 2pm today to make a decision on their bid.
It is quite sensible for the Bhoys to set Motherwell a deadline, as they can then decide whether to pursue other targets.

After all, since Celtic need a goalkeeper due to the injury suffered by Craig Gordon, they should try to get a deal wrapped up as soon as possible on transfer deadline day.
The Daily Record has also reported that Celtic are interested in signing Emiliano Martinez – on loan at Getafe at the moment – from Arsenal and Scott Bain – currently on loan at Hibernian – from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee.
