Celtic are interested in signing Daniel Podence from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Celtic are leading a number of clubs in the race for the 24-year-old winger, and that the Hoops have enquired about signing him on loan for the 2020-21 campaign.

Stats

Podence joined Wolves from Greek giants Olympiakos in the January transfer window for a fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £17 million.

According to WhoScored, the former Portugal Under-21 international winger has made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Wanderers.

The winger has also made one start and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Nuno’s side this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for Celtic?

Described by Wolves manager Nuno as “a quality player”, as quoted in The Birmingham Mail, Podence is a very good winger who is still relatively young at the age of 24.

It is hard to see the Wanderers send him out on loan so soon after signing him, but given his quality and experience, he would be a very good signing for Celtic and would make an immediate impact on the team.
