Celtic have contacted the SFA regarding the current situation with the banned Rangers players ahead of the match at Ibrox, according to The Daily Record.
Rangers had five players given bans by the SFA for attending an illegal house party, but Steven Gerrard’s side appealed against it, and now the hearing will take place after the Scottish Cup tie between the Gers and Celtic at Ibrox next weekend, according to the report.
This leaves the likes of Nathan Patterson and Bongani Zungu available to play in the Old Firm derby next weekend despite breaching covid rules, and Celtic have reportedly contacted the SFA seeking ‘clarification’ as to why there is a delay now whereas when Boli Bolingoli breached covid rules earlier in the season, it was dealt with within days.

It seems that there is nothing Celtic can do now, and that the Hoops will simply have to accept that Patterson and others could play against them next weekend.
What this situation does is add to the intense rivalry between the Old Firm rivals and will make the Scottish Cup tie next weekend that much more entertaining.
Rangers have already won the Scottish Premiership title, while Celtic can still salvage something from their season if they win the Scottish Cup.
