The Scottish Sun has reported that Celtic are about to announce the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager.

It has been reported that Celtic have agreed a compensation package with Postecoglou’s Japanese club Yokohama F Marinos.

Personal terms have been verbally agreed, according to the report, which has added that the 55-year-old will be officially announced as the Celtic manager within the next 72 hours.

Now, many Celtic fans will not be particularly excited by this appointment.

After all, not so long ago, it looked like Eddie Howe was going to take charge of Celtic.

That is not going to happen.

Postecoglou has managed just one club in Europe – Panachaiki in Greece in 2008 – and he is not really a household name in the world of football.

However, Celtic fans should stay optimistic. Postecoglou did well when he was the manager of Australia.

Moreover, the Glasgow giants’ chiefs would not appoint a manager just for the sake of it.

What is important is that Celtic fans get behind Postecoglou and support him, as the club aim to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title from bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers.
