Celtic’s search for a new right back has hit another stumbling block.

According to RMC Sport, Celtic have attempted to take Paris Saint-Germain right back Colin Dagba on loan – but he isn’t going to be move this month.

Celtic have so far focused on attacking additions, with Timothy Weah, Oliver Burke and Vakoun Issouf Bayo, whilst Maryan Shved is on his way too.

Yet it’s clear that Celtic need some defensive reinforcements too, and a right back is a key target given that experienced duo Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa are both out of contract this summer.

A host of right backs have been linked so far this month, but no deal has been struck with just over 24 hours of the transfer window left to go.

Now, RMC Sport report that Celtic have made an attempt to take PSG talent Dagba on loan, but have received the same answer that Saint-Etienne were given; he isn’t available.

Dagba, 20, has been coming through the PSG ranks since a 2016 move from Boulogne, and he has made four first-team appearances this season.

Despite already having Thomas Meunier and Dani Alves, PSG won’t let the youngster go, with boss Thomas Tuchel blocking any exit.

Celtic struck one deal with PSG earlier this month by signing Weah on loan, but Dagba won’t be following him to Parkhead before tomorrow’s deadline, barring a shock change of heart from Tuchel.
