According to Sport Ekspres in Albania, Celtic have made a first bid for Twente talent Lindon Selahi – but their offer has been rejected.

It’s claimed that Selahi is wanted by ‘many well-known clubs’, and Celtic have made their first move to try and lure him to Parkhead.

However, it’s stated that Twente won’t let him go easily, with technical director Jan Streuer adamant that Selahi will be a part of the Twente first team next season.

Only a ‘high offer’ would tempt Twente into selling, so whilst it’s unknown just how much Celtic offered, they seemingly need to go much higher yet.

Selahi, 21, was born in Belgium and came up through the ranks with Standard Liege and Anderlecht, but has made his name since joining Twente last summer.

The midfielder has played as a holding midfielder, as a box-to-box player and as a playmaker, with his versatility in the middle of the park surely appealing to Neil Lennon and co.

The Albanian youngster has big potential, and notched two goals and one assist in his first Eredivisie campaign this past season.

Celtic may have concerns over the future of Olivier Ntcham, and could view one-cap Albania international Selahi as a potential replacement or simply one for the future.
