Celtic are said to be looking towards the summer already
Celtic are believed to be interested in bringing Ben Davies to Glasgow.
The 25-year-old is currently with Preston North End, who sit 12th in the English Championship.
Davies, who can operate at centre-back and left-back, came up through the ranks at Deepdale and has had loan spells at York City, Tranmere Rovers, Southport, Newport County and Fleetwood Town.
The Daily Mail have reported that Celtic face competition from the likes of Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Belgian side Genk for Davies.
Former Hamilton Accies boss Alex Neil is in charge of the Lilywhites, and he has handed Davies 15 league appearances during this campaign. The defender missed eight games due to a hamstring problem.
Davies has turned down a new deal and can sign a pre-contract agreement in this month’s transfer window before moving for free in the summer.
Celtic are currently 19 points off the top in the Scottish Premiership after losing 1-0 to Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
