According to The Daily Mail, Celtic are considering a move to bring David Webb to Parkhead as their new sporting director.
Last weekend, The Scottish Sun claimed that Manchester City’s Fergal Harkin was being eyed up as Celtic’s new director of football.
The roles are named differently in the two reports, but would figure to be the same roles as Celtic look for somebody to lead their transfers.
Nick Hammond is head of football operations with Gary Penrice serving as head of recruitment, and Webb is now being targeted to join them.
Webb is currently technical director at Huddersfield Town in the Championship, and previously held the same role at Swedish side Ostersund.
Before that, Webb held a prominent recruitment role at Tottenham, and allegedly played a major role in the decision to sign Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

That must be appealing to Celtic, and whilst he won’t have anywhere near the budget involved to sign Son, he clearly does have an eye for talent.
His knowledge of England and Scandinavian markets is thought to be appealing to Celtic, and he could make for an ideal addition as the Bhoys plan for the summer window.
