Celtic are heavily interested in signing the Dundee defender in January.

According to reports from the Scottish Daily Record, Celtic will step up their interest in Dundee defender Jack Hendry in the January transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers is actively looking to shake up his squad in January, and bolstering the defence is one of his top priorities.

The report claims that Rodgers will allow a few players to leave and will bring in new faces in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail reported last week that the Hoops had submitted a £5,00,000 bid for the Dundee defender. However, the Dens Park officials dismissed talks of such a bid last night.

But Celtic are still expected to make their move for the young defender who impressed this season with his calm and composed displays.

The young defender is being watched by three Premier League clubs – Southampton, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace – but Celtic have asked Dundee to keep them informed.

His arrival could pave the exit for Jozo Simunovic, he having fallen out of the side in recent weeks, and is back on Burnley’s radar.
