Celtic are reportedly close to agreeing a two-year loan deal for Manchester City-bound Daniel Arzani.

Daniel Arzani of Australia takes part during an Australia Socceroos training session ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018 at Stadium Trudovye Rezervy on June 12, 2018 in Kazan, Russia.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday, Celtic are currently discussing whether they will be able to include the option to buy in the loan deal that is expected to take Daniel Arzani from Manchester City to Parkhead.

The 19-year-old is still technically not a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad, but The Scottish Sun reports that he is expected to complete his move to the Etihad Stadium from Melbourne City imminently – and then, immediately head to the Scottish Premiership champions for a two-year loan spell.

The Scottish Sun reports that Celtic believe that they are on the verge of completing a deal, with the teenager himself apparently wanting to make the switch to the Hoops.

Interestingly however, it appears that there may be a chance that the Bhoys could end up signing the Australia international on a permanent basis. The Scottish Sun adds that discussions are ongoing regarding whether Brendan Rodgers’ men will have the option to sign him permanently at the end of the loan.

It would certainly be a major coup for Celtic if they managed to get City to agree to including the permanent option. Arzani is clearly one of the most exciting talents on the market right now, so landing him for two years appears to be a great piece of business.

And if they could keep him beyond that two year spell, there is every chance that Celtic could have a seriously exciting player on their hands as they look to maintain their dominance of the domestic game.
