Celtic loanee Daniel Arzani has not enjoyed the best spell at Parkhead so far.

Daniel Arzani of Australia lines up his shot on goal during the International Friendly match between Hungary and Australia at Groupama Arena on June 9, 2018 in Budapest, Hungary.

According to a report from the Evening Times, Celtic have denied that there is any chance that Daniel Arzani’s loan deal will be cut short amid rumours suggesting that the Manchester City ace could leave in January.

Arzani has endured a very difficult time since arriving at Parkhead on a two-year loan in the summer. Brendan Rodgers has provided little indication that he is that close to being in first-team contention, with all of the Australian’s appearances so far coming in the reserve ranks.

And it appeared that his parent club may not be happy with his situation with rumours suggesting that they could recall him 18 months ahead of schedule should he not feature for Celtic before the turn of the year.

But the Evening Times is now reporting that the Bhoys are happy with the attacking midfielder’s development and remain confident that he is going to break into the first-team in the future.

After Charly Musonda’s loan last season, supporters understandably seemed to have some concerns about some of the recruitment when it became apparent that Arzani was not expected to make an immediate impact for the Hoops.

But he has shown some glimpses of real quality while playing for the reserves. And given that Celtic have now rubbished the idea that he could be on his way out in the near future, it seems entirely possible that the 19-year-old could prove to be Rodgers’ wildcard before the season concludes.
