Efe Ambrose has been with Celtic since 2012, but it seems his days are numbered at the Scottish club.

The defender has a contract with the Bhoys till the end of May, and there is no indication that he will be offered a new deal by the club.

The defender has spent the second half of the 2016-17 season at Hibs and played an important role for Neil Lennon’s side in getting them back to the Premiership.

Ambrose is keen to stay close to his family, but several clubs have shown an interest in him.

According to reports from Own Goal Nigeria, Ambrose has caught the attention of Ligue 1 outfit, Nice, who have made an inquiry about his availability.

There is also a reported interest from the Premier League, with Chris Hughton’s newly promoted Brighton showing some interest in his signature.

Ambrose’s agent is working on a possible transfer move for the 28-year-old. He has reportedly contacted Brighton last week (The Express) about a potential summer move but the Premier League side are yet to make decision.

Ambrose has made 169 appearances for the club, winning four Premiership titles, the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup in the process.
