Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are planning to send Joe Gomez out on loan to the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp is set to watch Gomez in pre-season, to assess whether he is ready for a first-team role next term.
But, at the moment, a loan move looks most likely for the young defender – who is highly regarded at Anfield.
Gomez failed to make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool last season, with injury plaguing his progress.

And Klopp is now said to be willing to loan out the 20-year-old, to help him get more first-team experience.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was said to be planning to make a move for Gomez (The Sun).

Rodgers was the manager who brought Gomez to Liverpool, and he is known to be a big fan of the youngster.
However, Celtic’s chances of landing Gomez this summer have been dented by Liverpool’s latest transfer plan.
Klopp apparently feels that Gomez’s development will be best served by moving to a Premier League club, rather than heading to Glasgow.
If Gomez does move elsewhere, Celtic are still likely to be on the look out for a new defender this summer.
