Celtic are looking into the prospect of signing former Brendan Rodgers target Andre Ayew on a free transfer after his Swansea City contract expired, as reported by Ghana Soccer Net.
Given that the one-time Marseille star was among the highest earners in the Championship, Swansea fans would have always known, deep down, that Ayew was unlikely to stick around for long after that heart-breaking play-off final defeat to Brentford.
Sure enough, just days after an Ivan Toney-inspired Brentford triumphed on the Wembley turf, the Welsh giants confirmed the departure of a man who set them back a club-record £18 million in 2018.
Celtic were linked with Ayew during the trophy-laden era of Brendan Rodgers.
And, according to Ghana Soccer Net, the Hoops are now back on the trail of an old flame with the 31-year-old available for free.
Is Andre Ayew finally heading to Celtic?

Celtic do not tend to target players on the wrong side of 30 – preferring young up-and-coming talents with substantial re-sale value – but it seems they are willing to make an exception for Ayew.
And with good reason.
Ayew scored 17 times last season and managed 18 the year before.
With Odsonne Edouard seemingly Leicester-bound, the Glasgow giants need to find goals from elsewhere and the 92-time Ghana international is more than capable of hitting double figures from his favoured attacking midfield role.
