According to 90Min, Leeds United are in the race to sign Celtic playmaker Ryan Christie, but face a battle with other Premier League sides.

It’s claimed that Christie knows clubs in England want to sign him, with Leeds one of the frontrunners alongside Newcastle United and Southampton.

The most likely destination may be Leicester City though, with Christie’s former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in charge of the Foxes.

Christie’s contract is approaching its final 18 months, and he has allegedly shown no desire to extend his stay with the Bhoys.

The 25-year-old’s ability to play as a number 10 or in from the right flank will be appealing, whilst he has plenty of energy to play for Marcelo Bielsa.

Christie has hit four goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season, whilst his numbers last season were staggering; 20 goals and 16 assists across all competitions.

The Scot will be on show at the European Championships next summer, but Celtic may now be tested in January with Leeds and many other clubs also keen.

It’s unclear just how much Celtic would demand for Christie, but they can expect a huge profit on the £500,000 they paid for him back in 2015 should Leeds, Newcastle or anyone else come forward with a bid.
