Celtic are attempting to sign Sunderland forward Fabio Borini this summer.

According to the Northern Echo, Celtic could be kept waiting in the hunt for Sunderland striker Fabio Borini.
Brendan Rodgers has made Borini one of his top targets for Celtic this summer.
However, the Italian striker will not be sold by Sunderland until the Black Cats have a new manager in place.

Sunderland have been looking for a replacement for David Moyes for a considerable amount of time, and they are keen to give whoever their new boss is, a chance to assess the squad.
As a result, Celtic could be left with an anxious wait over whether they can sign the Italian international.
Rodgers is believed to think that Borini could enhance the quality of Celtic’s attacking options.

The pair worked together at Liverpool, and Rodgers would be looking to coax Borini back to his best.
The 26-year-old has struggled at Sunderland over recent years, and looks short of confidence.
