The Liverpool loanee recently returned to action after over a year out through injury.

Celtic are said to be showing an interest in bringing Liverpool left-back Joe Gomez to the club on loan.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers remains keen on signing the player, who he signed for Liverpool from Charlton Athletic, on loan as cover across the Celtic back-four.

Gomez can play across the back four, at either full-back position or as a central defender, and has just recovered from a serious injury problem.

He featured in the FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle today for Liverpool. It was his first appearance since the October 2015 Europa League tie against FC Sion and will be hoping for plenty of first-team football now he has returned to the first-team picture.

That may be hard to come by at Liverpool, with the side chasing silverware in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp.

A loan move to Celtic could be perfect for the player. He knows Rodgers is a fan of his and would give him the chance to thrive in fresh surroundings after a tough year of injury turmoil. Celtic meanwhile would be getting their hands on some brilliant defensive coverage in the form of the 19-year-old star.
