According to the Daily Mail, Celtic have considered a move to bring Wigan Athletic goalkeeper David Marshall back to the club.
It’s claimed that Celtic have considered Joe Hart if they can’t land Fraser Forster, with Hart set to become a free agent once his Burnley deal expires.
Forster is Neil Lennon’s first-choice target, but Celtic are looking for alternative options – and ex-Bhoys stopper Marshall is one of them.
The 35-year-old is currently Wigan’s first-choice stopper in the Championship, racking up 32 appearances this season having joined from Hull City last summer.
Remarkably, the Scot has kept six clean sheets in a row for Wigan, stretching back to February in a sensational run of form.
Marshall came up through the Celtic ranks, and played alongside Bhoys boss Lennon whilst making 50 first-team appearances.

Marshall moved on to Norwich City in 2007, but few would have expected him to return to Parkhead some 13 years after his departure.
A 33-cap Scotland international, Marshall has become a solid goalkeeper away from Celtic, and his performances over the years may just earn him a move back to the Bhoys after all, if Lennon can’t land Forster.
