Glasgow Celtic are sets to meet Barcelona at Parkhead on Wednesday evening in Champions League action.
According to a report in the Daily Record, Jozo Simunovic is set to be fit to start for Celtic against Barcelona on Wednesday evening.
Simunovic has been struggling with injury of late, and he was left out of Celtic’s team to face Ross County last Friday.
However, Brendan Rodgers reportedly kept Simunovic sidelined to try and ensure that the centre-back would be available for the Bhoys’ clash with Barcelona.
Simumovic is set to be assessed over the week, but Rodgers is optimistic that the 22-year-old will be fit.
If the former Dinamo Zagreb man is fit it will be a major boost for Celtic, as he is one of their finest defenders.
Simunovic has struggled with injury since joining Celtic last January, but when fit he plays an important role for their first-team.
Celtic need to beat either Barcelona or Manchester City in their final two Champions League fixtures to have a chance of claiming third place in their group ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach.
