According to Sky Sports, Celtic are in advanced talks with Preston over the signing of Ben Davies, a man who is in very high demand.
Sky Sports say that Neil Lennon’s side are close to reaching an agreement with the 25-year-old, who is also wanted by Bournemouth and Sheffield United.
The Championship side quoted the Cherries £3 million for their academy graduate.
However, Sky Sports say that Alex Neil’s side are looking for a fee between £2 million and £2.5 million for the centre-back.
It is said that the Bhoys have monitored Davies for some time, and he was also a target in the summer.

Now, with just months remaining on his contract at Deepdale, it looks like Celtic are close to landing their man.
Sky Sports add that Lennon also wanted the defender’s teammate, Ben Pearson.
However, no more talks have taken place following initial discussions earlier this month.

Nevertheless, it looks like Celtic have found a bargain in Davies.
The Barrow-in-Furness born defender should be right in the midst of his prime at 25 years of age, while his contract situation means Celtic could land him for barely anything.
Having missed out on Filip Benkovic to OH Leuven, signing Davies isn’t a bad way to bounce back from that disappointment.
