According to a report from the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (31st January 2018; 21:35), Celtic are closing in on a deal for Jack Hendry, with the Hoops set to pay £1.5 million for the Dundee ace.

Brendan Rodgers has seemingly looked to bolster his defensive options for much of the window, despite signing Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig, and Hendry has been a player who has seemingly been on the Hoops’ radar throughout the month.

The Daily Mail reported at the end of December that the Bhoys had made a £500,000 bid for the 22-year-old, who has been hugely impressive in the Scottish Premiership this season.

And despite the window reaching its final minutes, it appears that Celtic are now ready to get a deal done, with the Mail reporting on their live transfer feed (31st January 2018; 21:35) that they are now closing in on a £1.5 million move.

The Mail adds that Celtic have seen off Premier League competition for Hendry’s signature, with West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth all keeping a keen eye on the youngster.

Signing Hendry will be a fantastic way to round off what has arguably been a very good window for Rodgers’ side, with Charly Musonda also arriving, Moussa Dembele staying and Celtic still 11 points clear of their nearest rival in the top flight.
