Brendan Rodgers is confident about signing a new Celtic player this week, according to a report.

The Daily Mail has reported that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is confident he will make a new signing “in the coming days”.
The Northern Irish manager is set to miss out on 21-year-old Serbian winger Srdjan Plavsic, who looks set to join Slavia Prague according to The Mail.

But the same report also claims Rodgers believes that he will welcome a new face to Celtic within the next few days.
It remains to be seen who the player is, but the likes of Charlie Taylor, Ryan Kent and Fabio Borini were linked with moves to the Parkhead club this past week.
Rodgers has already signed Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen this summer, spending £1.3 million on the Irish winger.

Missing out on £1.5 million Plavsic (figure provided by The Mail) will come as a blow to the former Liverpool manager, but it is not the end of the world.
Rodgers still has enough money to explore other options, and the prospect of joining Celtic, who won a domestic treble without losing a match, is surely a lot more attractive now than it was this time last year.
