According to The Scottish Sun, Gary Penrice is driving Celtic’s interest in Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel.
It’s claimed that Celtic are plotting a move to sign Osayi-Samuel without paying the £5million asking price on his head right now.
Osayi-Samuel is out of contract next summer, meaning Celtic want to land the winger on a pre-contract agreement in January.
Celtic are at least still keen on a cut-price deal right now, but Neil Lennon would be prepared to wait if they can’t strike a deal.
The report adds that Celtic’s head of recruitment and recent arrival Gary Penrice is driving the interest having taken Osayi-Samuel to QPR in 2017.
Penrice has now told Lennon to sign Osayi-Samuel, with real belief that Celtic can strike a deal in the near future.

The Nigerian winger has blistering pace and outstanding trickery, whilst at just 22, he has major potential to become a star.
Osayi-Samuel hit six goals and nine goals for QPR last season, and whilst Crystal Palace are keen to reunite him with Eberechi Eze, Celtic seemingly believe they can land him with Penrice’s help.
