The Irish Sun claim Celtic and Wolves are two of a handful of clubs battling it out for Shamrock Rovers teenager Aidomo Emakhu. Jose Mourinho’s Roma are also said to be keen on the 18-year-old talent.
Emakhu, 18, has clocked up 27 appearances for Shamrock after breaking into the first team last season. Shamrock won last season’s Irish title, and he has already played 14 times this term – with the season starting in February.

Scoring twice, including one in the Europa Conference League qualifying stage, a tournament in which Mourinho’s Roma went on to win, Emakhu is certainly attracting attention. He has also been called up for Ireland’s U19 side.
The Sun report that Serie B champions Lecce are winning the race to sign Emakhu. But Premier League sides Wolves and Southampton, Scottish champions Celtic and Mourinho’s Roma are also interested.

Predominantly a left winger, Emakhu has a big decision this summer. A move is likely given Shamrock will struggle to request a big fee, so, where does he go in the coming months?
Celtic have given plenty of young players a chance. Lecce are likely to use the depths of their squad after gaining promotion. Southampton are arguably the best side for promoting youth in the Premier League.
A move to Wolves or Roma would stifle his progression in terms of game time, but they boast the most-financial power to entice Emakhu. Celtic do have a solid connection with Irish football and Shamrock Rovers.
