According to the Mirror (14:11), Celtic are battling Sheffield United for the signature of Wigan Athletic prodigy Kyle Joseph.
The Mirror state that the Scotland Under-19 international’s contract at the DW Stadium expires at the end of the season.
As a result, Neil Lennon and Chris Wilder are tracking the 19-year-old, who has scored four goals in 11 League One outings for the Latics this term.
The Mirror add that Wigan have offered Joseph a new contract.
However, if he refuses to sign, they would be entitled to compensation after he leaves, seeing as he rose through their academy.

It is also said that Wigan are yet to receive any official approach from those interested in the exciting teenager.
Joseph has burst onto the scene this season, and bagged a hat-trick in the 4-3 win over Burton Albion at the end of December.
His performances have clearly impressed the aforementioned clubs, while his teammate Kal Naismith has also liked what he’s seen.

After a game against Lincoln City, Wigan’s official site quote Naismith as saying: ‘He’ll be a top player, a really, really good player. He has a great appetite for the game and a great attitude – I enjoy playing with him.’
He is clearly a bright prospect with plenty of potential under his belt.
Whoever lands him out of Sheffield United or Celtic will be getting a fantastic prospect, and one who looks likely to do big things in football.
