Celtic will be running the rule over St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann in today’s Scottish Cup semi-final against St Mirren.

That’s according to the back page of today’s Sunday Post, as they claim that Celtic will be scouting McCann today.

Celtic are believed to be weighing up a summer move for McCann, having scouted him back in November during Neil Lennon’s time as manager.

The Bhoys are seeking new midfield additions this summer given that Scott Brown is moving on to Aberdeen at the end of the season.

McCann has been starring for Callum Davidson’s side this season, and he has put himself on Celtic’s radar for months now.

The 21-year-old has notched two goals and two assists in all competitions this season, and now has two caps for Northern Ireland.

If McCann shines and helps St Johnstone into the Scottish Cup final, Celtic may well view him as a potential signing for the summer as they look to rebuild for next season.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Liam Shaw is already on board, and Celtic are now looking towards McCann to aid their midfield options for their next boss.
