According to Goal, Celtic and Manchester City are fighting for the signature of Queens Park Rangers talent Sinclair Armstrong.

It’s claimed that City, Celtic and Crystal Palace are all making their moves to sign Armstrong with his contract expiring in the summer.

Sinclair made his senior debut for Shamrock Rovers at the age of just 15 in 2018, and he became one of the most in-demand talents in Ireland.

QPR ended up signing him in October, but he only signed until June 2021 – meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English club now.

That would be hugely disappointing for QPR, who had hoped that Armstrong would sign a long-term deal, but now fear he will be on the move.

The 17-year-old is predominantly a striker, but can also feature out wide, and having interest from a club as huge as City has to be appealing.

They also have fellow Irish talent and ex-Shamrock Rovers teammate Gavin Bazunu, meaning a move to the Etihad Stadium could be appealing.

Celtic are the only one of the three teams that can speak to Armstrong now though, and they will have to use that to their advantage in order to win the race.
