Ukranian outlet Sport Arena claim Celtic are in the “final stages” of completing a move to sign Karpaty winger Maryan Shved, in a deal said to be worth £2million.

Celtic have been linked with a move the one-time Ukraine international for much of the January transfer window, as Brendan Rodgers continues to look for young, rising stars rather than bringing in experienced players.

Indeed, Celtic have completed deals to sign three new players this month, with Timothy Weah just 18 years of age. Oliver Burke is still only 21, while Vakoun Issouf Bayo has just turned 22 this month.

Shved has shone for Ukranian side Karpaty this season, scoring eight goals and creating three more in 17 league games for the top-tier club. The Scottish Sun claim a move will be worth £2million.

It is claimed that Shved will “soon become a Celtic player”, adding more depth out wide to the likes of Weah, Burke, Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, Mikey Johnstone, Jonny Hayes and Lewis Morgan.
