According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are keen on Fulham midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen – but face competition from Birmingham City and Sheffield United.

The Bhoys raided Fulham last summer to lure striker Moussa Dembele to the club, and the French striker has repaid Brendan Rodgers’ faith by smashing 32 goals in all competitions.

Now, Celtic could look to try and repeat the trick, as the Daily Mail report that the Bhoys are keen on another Fulham youngster, with midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen believed to be on their radar.

Midfielder Christensen, 22, joined Fulham from Midtjylland back in 2012, and has scored six goals in 68 for the Cottagers, but was sent out on loan to Burton Albion in January after a lack of first-team football under Slavisa Jokanovic.

Since joining Burton, Christensen has notched three assists in 12 appearances, and the Danish Under-21 international’s performances appear to have attracted major interest.

Once tipped for a bright future, Christensen has become lost in the shuffle at Fulham, and it’s claimed that he wants a fresh start away from Craven Cottage during the summer transfer window.

Celtic could offer him a route away from West London as manager Rodgers pursues another midfielder despite landing Eboue Kouassi in January, but they allegedly face competition for his signature.

The report states that Birmingham City and League One promotion-winners Sheffield United are both keen on Christensen, and whilst Celtic’s Champions League status should give them the upper hand, first-team opportunities elsewhere could put other clubs in the frame.
