Powell is said to have put Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday on alert.

Nick Powell has ‘sparked a scramble’ after turning down a new £1-million-a-year-contract, but is unlikely to join either Celtic or Rangers, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claims both Celtic and Rangers have tried for Powell, whose Wigan Athletic contract expires this summer.
But it adds the 25-year-old is looking to remain in England with his young family.
The alleged development is said to have put both Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday ‘on alert’ over Powell, who played under the Owls boss, Steve Bruce, at Hull City.

But it is the Potters who are edging close to a deal for the Celtic and Rangers target, according to the Stoke Sentinel.
Powell scored or made 14 goals in 25 starts for Wigan this past Championship campaign.
Rangers have already agreed a permanent deal for their on-loan Southampton midfielder, Steven Davis – one of several players the former Manchester United man would have had to compete with at Ibrox.

Would Powell have been a worthwhile addition for Celtic or Rangers?
