Report: Celtic and Aberdeen agree Jonny Hayes deal

Celtic have reportedly had an offer accepted for the Aberdeen winger.

Celtic and Aberdeen have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Dons winger Jonny Hayes, the Daily Mail reports.

Celtic were one of a number of clubs north and south of the border said to have bid for Hayes, after he scored 11 goals and created 24 in all competitions this past campaign.

And the Bhoys look to have finally made a breakthrough, with Aberdeen claimed to have accepted an offer in excess of £1 million.

Hayes can now be expected to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical at Celtic, whose manager Brendan Rodgers has worked with the 29-year-old previously at Reading.

If true, the news would come as a further blow to Aberdeen, who have reluctantly allowed boss Derek McInnes told hold talks with Sunderland, along with assistant Tommy Docherty.

According to Teamtalk, Celtic stepped up their approach for Hayes amid fears he could follow McInnes to the Stadium of Light.

Sky Sports reports the Hayes deal will see Bhoys winger Ryan Christie return to Pittodrie on a season-long loan.
