Former Leicester City and PSG bosses Claudio Ranieri and Laurent Blanc are reported targets for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.
Claudio Ranieri and Laurent Blanc have emerged as potential managerial targets for Celtic this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Scottish Premiership champions are looking for a new permanent coach for the first time since 2016. Brendan Rodgers walked away from Parkhead to take over at Leicester City in February and doubts persist about whether interim boss Neil Lennon should be handed the reigns full-time, particularly after Sunday’s dismal Old Firm derby defeat to Rangers.
Celtic have been sensationally linked with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho recently while Slaven Bilic has apparently expressed an interest in taking over and they have both been mentioned as candidates once again by Calciomercato.
The report, however, has added both Ranieri and Blanc into the mix.
At 67, Ranieri would hardly be a long-term option but he would bring real European experience to a club who have been humiliated in continental competition for far too long.
Ranieri famously won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016 and, after an ill-fated spell at Fulham, has led Roma into contention to qualify for the Champions League since signing a short-term deal with the Italian giants in March.
Blanc, however, has been out of the game for three years now. But the 53-year-old still has an excellent track record, winning four Ligue 1 titles in charge of Bordeaux and PSG. The former Manchester United defender also coached France at Euro 2012.
