Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are struggling to offload Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera.

Eduardo Herrera of Rangers celebrates after he scores his teams third goal during the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to The Scottish Sun, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera are costing Rangers a massive £50,000 per week in wages.

The Mexican duo, who joined Rangers in 2017, have struggled to justify their transfer fees in Glasgow.

Around £2.7 million [Daily Star] was shelled out on Pena, while his fellow Mexico international set the club back around £1.5 million [The Scottish Sun].

Pena didn’t play for Rangers once in 2018, while Herrera only managed 35 minutes of football in the calendar year – and yet they are both costing the club a lot of money.

The Scottish Sun has claimed that combined, they are ‘draining’ the club of £50,000-a-week, which equates to £200,000 per month.

Herrera recently sealed a loan move to Necaxa, which is where his compatriot had his temporary agreement terminated in November, after originally joining Cruz Azul last January.

It remains to be seen where Pena is now, but he is not with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers squad in Tenerife at the moment, so it would appear as if the 38-year-old has very little plans for him.
