According to Globo Esporte, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has personally called Everton Soares on the phone to convince him to move to the club in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Everton are interested in signing the 24-year-old forward from Gremio this summer.

The report in the Brazilian news outlet has claimed that the Merseyside club’s manager Ancelotti has called the forward to pitch his idea.

It has been added that Gremio are looking for €40 million (£35.79 million) as transfer fee for Everton.

Stats

During the 2019 campaign, Everton made 23 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league for Gremio, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

In 2018, the forward made 24 starts and three substitute appearances in the league, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Need for a new striker

With Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean both struggling to score goals, Everton have had to rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

While the 23-year-old is a very and promising striker, there is no doubt that the Toffees need to add more firepower upfront, especially if they are to challenge for the Champions League places next season.
