Celtic are keen on Trevor Carson, but appear set to face competition from the Championship promotion-chasers.

The Hoops were keen to sign Carson during the January transfer window, with BBC Sport reporting on deadline day that Brendan Rodgers’ men had seen a £375,000 bid rejected for the goalkeeper.

However, with uncertainty surrounding Scott Bain’s future and question marks lingering over the form of Craig Gordon and Dorus De Vries, it appears that Rodgers is still keen on the 30-year-old who was superb when the two teams last met. But signing him may not be an easy task.

Potential advantage for Celtic?
Cardiff look set to win promotion to the Premier League this season, with the Bluebirds one point clear of Fulham with a game in hand over the Cottagers – and that may prove very difficult for Carson to turn down if they make an offer that Well accept.
But perhaps Celtic still have a fantastic chance of signing the stopper, as he described the opportunity to move to Parkhead as potentially life-changing in comments reported by BBC Sport in March, so he may be just as keen to make the move if Celtic come calling during the summer.
