Cardiff City are reportedly keen on signing the West Bromwich Albion hitman.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Cardiff are preparing a £12.5 million swoop for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, on the proviso that they secure promotion to the Premier League this season.
The 28-year-old joined the Baggies from Zenit Saint Petersburg in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of 2015.
Rondon is somewhat of a divisive character at the Hawthorns. He is an incredibly hard worker, but his lack of goals sometimes makes it hard to justify his place in the team as a centre-forward.
The Venezuelan has scored just 28 goals in 118 appearances in all competitions for West Brom, but that hasn’t stopped rumours surfacing linking him with an exit from the Hawthorns.
The Daily Mail claims that if Cardiff go up this season, they want to sign Rondon for £12.5 million, with Neil Warnock viewing the striker as the perfect summer addition.
The Baggies hitman certainly possesses the kind of work ethic that Warnock expects from his players, and if the Bluebirds do gain promotion this term, having Rondon amongst their ranks next term would surely boost their hopes of survival in the top flight.
