Gunnarsson has made 15 Premier League starts for Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City this season.
Aron Gunnarsson is a target for clubs in China and Qatar as his contract at Cardiff City runs down, according to Wales Online.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been playing for the Bluebirds since 2011, making 274 appearances for the club and establishing himself as one of the first names on Neil Warnock’s team sheet since they were promoted to the Premier League.
But Gunnarsson is set to become a free agent in just four months’ time and Wales Online have suggested that a new contract is unlikely.
Should the former Coventry City ace leave, it is understood that he will not be short of offers.
Clubs from China and Qatar are interested in snapping him up and Gunnarsson could perhaps expect to receive a substantial pay rise, even if football in the Far or Middle East is nowhere near as competitive as he is used to.
Wales Online reports that teams from a range of other foreign countries are interested in the bearded battler, who impressed as Iceland reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 and competed in the group stages of last summer’s World Cup.
