Cardiff City were unable to lure Amari’i Bell to South Wales a few months ago but the Fleetwood left-back could be heading to the Championship at last.

Fleetwood Town missed out on promotion to the Championship last season but at least they managed to keep hold of star man Amari’i Bell.
But how much longer the left-back remains at Highbury is a matter of debate. HITC sources told us back in August that Cardiff City had turned their attention to Bell with Hull City and MK Dons keen.
Neil Warnock’s side had a bid rejected but, according to The Mirror (live transfer blog, 26th December), they are not prepared to give up yet.

The report states that Cardiff are still interested in signing Bell and will make another move in the January transfer window. Considering that The Bluebirds are sitting third in the Championship table, level on points with Bristol City in the second automatic promotion position, you can imagine that Bell would be interested in a move – particularly with Fleetwood 14th in League One as things stand.
Joe Bennett is Cardiff’s first choice left-back right now but the 23-year-old would be likely to challenge for a place in Warnock’s starting XI while also compensating for Declan John’s permanent move to Rangers.

Bell, who started his career at Birmingham City, has been a regular at Fleetwood since moving to the North West in 2014 but it appears that the time is right for the talented youngster to make a step up.
