According to the Daily Mail, Cardiff City are interested in an audacious January bid for West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho.

The Bluebirds staged a stunning comeback at Reading tonight, as they were 2-0 down with seven minutes to play before Joe Bennett and Lee Tomlin struck to salvage a point.

Neil Warnock’s men remain in automatic promotion spot right now, but the Cardiff boss may be looking for one big January addition to try and seal promotion back to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail now report that West Ham striker Diafra Sakho is a top target for Cardiff in what would be an audacious swoop, with his future still in doubt.

A 2014 signing from Metz, Sakho has hit 23 goals in 69 games for West Ham, with injuries playing their part for the Senegal international, whilst he even attempted to force a move away from the club back in August.

Sakho has remained with West Ham, scoring three times in 15 games in all competitions this season, but his future remains in doubt as new manager David Moyes considers moves for other strikers.

It’s claimed though that Moyes and West Ham want £12million for Sakho in January, and it remains to be seen whether Cardiff can afford such a fee.

Sakho may also not fancy dropping down to the Championship given his aspirations of being in Senegal’s World Cup squad, but the Bluebirds appear to be keen on a stunning deal next month.
