Caolan Lavery has struggled for first team appearances at Sheffield Wednesday in recent seasons.

According to a report in the Sheffield Star, Caolan Lavery remains the most likely Sheffield Wednesday player to depart this summer.
Lavery’s contract at Hillsborough is set to expire in the coming weeks, and although he has been offered a new deal, he is not expected to sign.

Lavery has found first-team chances hard to come by at Wednesday in recent years, with most his first-team experience coming out on loan.
The forward has been sent on temporary moves to Portsmouth, Chesterfield, Plymouth and Southend in the last few seasons.
Lavery is still believed to be highly regarded by Wednesday’s staff, but his lack of first-team chances have left the youngster questioning his future.

Lavery is unlikely to be a regular starter for Wednesday next term, given the strength of Carlos Carvalhal’s options in forward positions.
As a result, the prospect apparently feels that his development may be better served by moving elsewhere.
Wednesday have also offered new deals to Jose Semedo and Lewis Price, and the pair are widely expected to agree to the terms in the near future.
