Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly handing a new deal to defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is set to sign a new contract with the club, ending rumours about his future.

Tottenham have tied two defenders down to new contracts this week as Kyle Walker-Peters and Davinson Sanchez have both penned new deals – and Spurs aren’t stopping there.

Centre back Carter-Vickers has been with the club since arriving at the age of just 11, making his way up through the ranks to eventually be under first-team consideration for Mauricio Pochettino.

Now, The Sun report that Carter-Vickers is set to pen a new contract with the club, with the 20-year-old set for another extension despite only penning his last one in August 2017.

The United States international may still be loaned out by Pochettino according to the report, but the deal does suggest that Spurs still see a big future for the defender despite suggestions that he could be forced to leave in search of first-team football.

Carter-Vickers spent this season on loan with Sheffield United and Ipswich Town, with another Championship loan move potentially in the offing even with the uncertainty in Tottenham’s defence.

Toby Alderweireld could leave this summer, which would open up a spot at the back, but Pochettino would seemingly only want to carry one youngster in his first-team setup, and Juan Foyth appears to be ahead of Carter-Vickers right now.
