Leeds United are reportedly set to sign Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are set to complete the loan signing of Manchester United left back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

The Whites have added a host of new faces to their squad this summer, with the likes of Felix Wiedwald, Mateusz Klich, Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski arriving after Leeds put a focus on the European market.

Players such as Vurnon Anita, Matthew Pennington and Madger Gomes have arrived from English clubs though, and another player appears to be heading to Elland Road from a Premier League side.

The Daily Mail report that Manchester United’s Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is heading to Elland Road for a loan spell, as Leeds look for a new left back following Charlie Taylor’s move to Burnley.

Thomas Christiansen does have right-footed Gaetano Berardi who can fill in at left back if needed, but adding a natural left-footer in Borthwick-Jackson is a smart move ahead of the new Championship season.

The 20-year-old broke into the United first team under Louis van Gaal, making 14 appearances during the 2015-16 season, but he was loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers last season as Jose Mourinho deemed him not ready for first-team action.

Borthwick-Jackson’s spell at Molineux was a disaster, as he made just seven first-team appearances for the Championship club before heading back to Old Trafford this summer.

Now in need of more playing time, Borthwick-Jackson is allegedly set to join Leeds on a season-long loan deal, and if completed quickly, he could be in line to face Bolton Wanderers this weekend.
