According to Sky Sports, Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has now arrived in the North East to finalise his move to Newcastle United.

It’s claimed that Wilson has flown from the South Coast to Tyneside in Mike Ashley’s private helicopter to get the deal done.

Newcastle’s £20million bid has been accepted, and whilst Aston Villa have also had a bid accepted, it’s the Magpies who are set to win the race.

Villa have withdrawn their bid, having heard that Wilson wasn’t interested in a move to Villa Park and had instead set his heart on joining Newcastle.

A medical is now imminent for Wilson, in what is a major deal for the Magpies as they prepare to bring in a new goalscorer.

The 28-year-old hit seven Premier League goals last season, and provides a new threat in Steve Bruce’s attack.

This will not only take the pressure off Joelinton up top, but provide Newcastle with a striker who immediately knows the Premier League.

With ex-Bournemouth teammate Ryan Fraser on the way too, Newcastle are currently experiencing a flurry of activity which will excite fans.
