Clucas was a rumoured target for Burnley before his transfer from Hull City to Swansea City a year ago
Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas will complete a £12 million move to Burnley within the next 48 hours, according to the Sun (July 18, page 51).
The newspaper reports the two clubs opened talks about a deal last night and reiterates earlier claims that Burnley’s manager, Sean Dyche, wants Clucas signed before next week’s Europa League qualifying trip to Aberdeen.
The versatile left-footer was a rumoured target for the Clarets before his transfer from Hull City to Swansea a year ago.
According to Transfermarkt, the Swans paid around £15 million for Clucas following Hull’s relegation, leaving the Welsh side in line to make a £3 million loss after dropping out of the Premier League themselves.
Clucas, who has scored or made eight goals in 66 top flight appearances, previously spent a season at Chesterfield, a former club of both Dyche and Nicky Law, the Burnley head of recruitment.
