Burnley are set to make a £10 million for Joakim Maehle as the Clarets look to finally bring the Genk defender to Turf Moor, according to The Sun (7 June, page 61).
Sean Dyche is not a man who gives up on things easily.
And, after a year of trying, Burnley’s gravel voiced gaffer could finally get his hands on a man who has been linked with a move to the Premier League during pretty much every transfer window in living memory.
The Lancashire outfit were first linked with Maehle exactly 12 months ago.
And, after another impressive campaign with Genk over in Belgium, the Denmark U21 international is once again a target for England’s perennial overachievers.

The Sun claims that Burnley will make a £10 million offer with Maehle expected to replace the out-of-contract Phil Bardsley in Dyche’s squad.
Interestingly, the report adds that Dyche would prefer to spend much of his budget elsewhere but he will know full well that a new full-back will be required.
A speedy and attack-minded full-back who should offer a more forward-thinking alternative to Matt Lowton, Maehle produced 14 goals and assists during the 2018/19 season as Genk won the Jupiler League title.
