Burnley are reportedly keen on Leeds United’s Mateusz Klich.
According to The Sun, Burnley are interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich this summer, just days after being linked with Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Klich, 29, appeared to be on the scrapheap under Thomas Christiansen, and then started his career under Marcelo Bielsa as a centre back last summer.
However, Klich has turned his career around under Bielsa, hitting 10 goals and nine assists from midfield last season whilst returning the Polish national team setup.
Now, Burnley are thought to be keen on signing Klich, with Sean Dyche seemingly interested in signing a goalscoring midfielder this summer, and Klich certainly fits the bill.
Klich has been a key part of Marcelo Bielsa’s midfield, but if Leeds can get a big fee for a player approaching 30, they may well consider selling – especially inside the final two years of his deal, providing Leeds activate a 12-month option in his contract.
Selling Klich would be more appealing than cashing in on the likes of Kalvin Phillips or Kemar Roofe, who could be worth huge amounts in the future, whereas Klich may be at the peak of his value.
What’s interesting is that Klich wanted to go last summer, with Bielsa telling Leeds Live that the Pole was interested in leaving after a lost season under Christiansen and poor start to life under Bielsa, before he was salvaged by Bielsa.
Burnley have Premier League football to offer, which could turn Klich’s head, and it’s even more interesting that The Mirror claim Burnley also want goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell from Leeds too, meaning they could launch a double move.
