Burnley are hoping to turn Leeds striker’s head.
Burnley are hoping a £50,000 per week contract offer will tempt Chris Wood into quitting Leeds United.
Alan Nixon reports in The Sun (Goals pullout 19/8 page 4) that the Clarets are making one final push to try and sign the striker.
The report claims Wood could miss today’s game against Sunderland as a result of the speculation.
The Mirror report Wood has even agreed to make the move to Burnley.
The Daily Star claims he currently earns £17,000 per week.

Burnley are likely to meet resistance from Leeds whose head coach Thomas Christiansen told a press conference yesterday that the club intend to keep the New Zealand international.
Yorkshire Evening Post report Leeds have offered Wood a new three-year contract.

The wages offered by Leeds are unspecified but it is likely to be well short of Burnley’s offer due to the financial advantage Premier League club have over Championship teams.
All eyes will be on Leeds team selection today at Sunderland in the hope Wood starts.
Burnley’s best chance considering Leeds’ not for sale stance is to turn the striker’s head and cause him to push for a move.
Leeds should hope their own contract offer has already done enough to convince him to stay despite the extra money on offer from Burnley.
