It seems that West Bromwich Albion have taken a step closer to signing Craig Dawson, but Middlesbrough could face a fight for Ben Gibson.

Burnley have been tracking West Brom’s Dawson for much of the season so far, but have found getting a deal done very difficult.
West Brom are demanding a high price-tag for the defender, who Darren Moore ideally wants to keep.
And it seems that the Baggies boss may get his way, as Burnley have changed tact and are now said to be trying to do business with Middlesbrough.

Boro’s Gibson has been linked with a Premier League move for the last two summers, and Burnley now want to take the commanding centre-back off Tony Pulis’ side.
Whether Boro would be willing to offload such a key player so close to deadline day remains to be seen.
Boro have brought in Aden Flint already this summer, and there are high hopes for his potential partnership with Gibson at the Riverside.
