Abdoulaye Toure turned down Premier League Burnley last summer to stay in Ligue 1 with Nantes instead.

Burnley have renewed their interest in Abdoulaye Toure 12 months after they tried and failed to lure the Nantes midfielder to Turf Moor, according to France Football.
Back in the summer of 2018, L’Equipe claimed that Sean Dyche’s side were willing to pay £10.5 million for Nantes’ reigning Player of the Year while offering him a five-year contract. By the time the window slammed shut in early August, however, Toure was gearing up for another season at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
Why? Well, according to Get France Football News, the former France U20 enforcer wasn’t sure whether it was the right time to make the trip across the channel.
It seems that he feels somewhat differently after one year on, however.
“The foreign championships are very attractive. For me, I have the ambition to go to another club,” said 25-year-old Toure.

Fortunately for him, Burnley have retained their interest after Toure produced a career-best three goals and four assists from the centre of the park last season.
A technical yet hard-working player adept at winning back possession and starting attacks from the centre of the park, Toure looks a perfect fit for Dyche’s workmanlike side.
