Everton academy product Jonjoe Kenny has been a bit-part player under Marco Silva.

Jonjoe Kenny of Everton arrives for the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton Fc at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 12, 2019 in London, England.

Burnley have revived their interest in Everton academy product Jonjoe Kenny, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that Burnley want to sign the 22-year-old right-back, who has played a bit-part role under manager Marco Silva this season.

It is said the Toffees rejected an offer from the Lancashire for Kenny during the January transfer window as manager Sean Dyche has now gone back in for his services.

Over the course of the season, Seamus Coleman has deployed the right-back role for large parts of the campaign, whilst Kenny has played as back-up and Mason Holgate also utilised that role prior to his loan spell at Championship side West Brom.

As for Burnley, Matt Lowton has played at right-back as he has challenged the more experienced Phil Bardsley for that role during the recently concluded campaign.

During his time at Everton, Kenny hasn’t been able to establish a first-team spot as a move away from Goodison Park may help his career in the medium to long term.

Over the course of the season, Kenny, who earns £14k-a-week at Goodison Park [Spotrac], has played 12 games for the club in all competitions, with nine of those appearances coming in the league [transfermarkt].

The Daily Mail report also states that Silva, who guided Everton to a top-eight finish in his first season in charge of the club, wants to add a new right-back to his squad this summer.

If that were to happen then from a logical standpoint it would further decrease Kenny’s chances of breaking into the starting XI given the players that are already ahead of him in the pecking order.
